Sony’s PlayStation VR2, the next-gen virtual reality headset, has finally debuted in India, arriving nearly 10 months post its US launch. However, the headset, priced at Rs. 57,990 for the visor and Sense controllers, comes at a slightly higher cost than the standard PS5.

The Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle is also available for Rs. 61,999. Yet, online retailers face limited stock, with Amazon and e2z Store being the primary outlets offering the product. Others permit pre-booking or email notifications for availability.

Notably, the PlayStation Store now offers the PS VR2 catalogue, including the Horizon spin-off game priced at Rs. 3,999. This immersive experience revolves around Ryas, a former Shadow Carja warrior, unraveling mysteries within the Sundom.

This installment expands the Horizon universe by intertwining the narrative with familiar characters, including the series protagonist, Aloy.

The headset is expected to be available soon across major retailers like Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, and others. Amazon presently offers a limited-time 8 percent discount, reducing the price to Rs. 54,990, equivalent to the Blu-ray-equipped PS5 console.

Despite the excitement surrounding the PS VR2 launch, Sony India faces inquiries about the delayed Spider-Man 2 Collector’s Edition orders, causing unrest among pre-order customers since June. However, Sony has yet to address this concern officially.

The PS VR2 boasts impressive specifications, featuring a 4,000 x 2,040 OLED panel with a 110-degree FOV, offering high-resolution visuals and a comfortable viewing experience.

Unlike other VR systems, it eliminates the need for setup tracking cameras and introduces sensory features that replicate in-game sensations through motor vibrations.

The launch of the PS VR2 signals a significant step for virtual reality enthusiasts in India, although its availability remains limited, prompting users to keep an eye on retailer updates for future stock arrivals.
