Doda Police Books Bus Owner in Tragic Accident Case
Doda Police have initiated legal action against the owner of a bus involved in a fatal accident in Trungal Assar on November 15, 2023. The accident resulted in the tragic loss of 39 lives, with 17 others injured. The bus was en route from Kishtwar to Jammu when the mishap occurred.
FIR Registered and SIT Formed for Investigation
An FIR No. 21/2023 under sections 279, 337, and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Police Station Assar. A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Dy.SP DAR Doda and supervised by Addl. SP Hqrs. Doda, has been constituted to thoroughly investigate the case on a daily basis and determine the cause of the accident.
Owner Booked for Negligence
During the investigation, Dheeraj Gupta, the owner of the ill-fated bus, has been booked for not adhering to proper procedures and traffic regulations. The ongoing investigation by the SIT is thoroughly examining all aspects of the case to ensure a comprehensive understanding and accountability.
