Doda, November 17: Today witnessed a concerted effort by officials from diverse departments in Doda as they implemented special measures to conduct traffic checks at various points along the National Highway and sensitive zones. Naib Tehsildar Khellani, in collaboration with the In-Charge of Police Post Khellani, erected a checkpoint at Malhori. During the scrutiny, fines were issued to four vehicles found exceeding passenger load limits. Additionally, one bus faced confiscation under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

SDM Thathri, along with magistrates and police personnel, engaged in inspecting vehicles for adherence to traffic regulations. Similarly, Tehsildar Kahara, along with Naib Tehsildar and the Police Post In-Charge of Kahara, established another traffic checkpoint to address violations of traffic rules.

The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) in Doda, under the oversight of ARTO Doda Rajesh Gupta, actively participated in checkpoint activities at sensitive areas. The MVD Doda inspection team, led by the department’s inspector, focused on checking national highways for traffic violations, with a primary emphasis on verifying vehicle licenses, insurance, helmets, and addressing overloading concerns.
