New Delhi, July 21 (VoM News): While issuing the stricter directions of imposing the additional condition, Delhi High Court on Tuesday declined to stay the bail granted to Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez and journalist Irfan Mehraj in a 2020 terror funding case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The matter was being heard by the Division Bench of Justices Prathiba M. Singh and Vikas Mahajan.

The bench observed that although the allegations against the two accused were extremely serious, there was no justification at this stage to suspend the trial court’s bail order.

The court, however, noted that the trial court’s order lacked detailed findings and said the issue required further examination.

The honourable court directed that the legal precedents relied upon in the bail order should not be cited in other cases until the High Court decides the matter.

The case has been listed for further hearing in August.
