    Flash Flood, Cloudburst Cause Widespread Damage in J&K’s Thathri Doda

    DODA, July 7 [VoM News]: As per reports, due to heavy rain, strong winds and a suspected cloudburst which triggered the flash floods in Thathri town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, causing widespread damage to houses, vehicles and public infrastructure

    Local sources while interacting with VoM News stated that several residential and non-residential structures were damaged after floodwaters and debris swept through parts of the town.

    Multiple houses reportedly suffered extensive damage, while several vehicles were either damaged or washed away into the Chenab River.

    The heavy rainfall also disrupted road connectivity, forcing the closure of the Doda-Batote-Kishtwar National Highway (NH-244) after mudslides and debris blocked the route.

    Restoration work has been initiated, but traffic remains suspended until the road is declared safe.
