Vibrant Bhaderwah Winter Festival: A Spectacular Culmination on New Year’s Eve
The Vibrant Bhaderwah Festival, an embodiment of cultural richness and winter allure in the Chenab Valley, concluded with a mesmerizing New Year’s Eve celebration. The event saw Punjabi sensation Kaka’s captivating performance, marking a grand finale against the stunning backdrop of Bhaderwah Fort.
Celebration Highlights:
- Kaka’s Performance: Kaka’s dynamic performance amidst the snow-clad landscape enthralled an audience of over one lakh tourists, blending contemporary beats with traditional festivities.
- Influx of Tourists: With the guidance of Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha and the concerted efforts of multiple authorities, the festival attracted an unprecedented influx of tourists, exceeding one lakh in number.
- Cultural Fusion: Bhaderwah Fort, adorned with vibrant illumination, hosted a plethora of cultural activities, including traditional dances, the inauguration of a modern cineplex, and screenings of popular films like ‘Sam Bahadur’ and ‘Tiger-3’.
- New Year’s Eve: The festivities culminated with a breathtaking fireworks display at midnight, marking the transition to 2024. Kaka’s performance at the Bus Stand Bhaderwah added to the jubilant atmosphere of the New Year’s Eve party.

- The Directorate of Tourism Jammu expressed gratitude to locals, tourists, media, and stakeholders for their pivotal role in the festival’s success, showcasing Bhaderwah’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
- Sh. Abid Rashid, Secretary Tourism, reaffirmed the department’s commitment to exploring Bhaderwah’s untapped tourism potential and promoting local culture and traditions. Efforts to boost tourism infrastructure and encourage homestays for locals’ livelihoods are ongoing.
- Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh, emphasized enhancing tourism to create livelihoods and establish Bhaderwah as a prominent tourism destination. Plans to improve tourism infrastructure, along with the involvement of private stakeholders in developing world-class hotels, were highlighted.
- Joint Director Tourism, Sunaina Mehta, highlighted Bhaderwah’s potential as a wedding destination and MICE tourism site. She underscored the district’s impressive visitor count, surpassing five lakh tourists this year, showcasing significant progress in the region’s tourism sector.
