Untapped Economic Potential of the Chenab Region
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman, Ghulam Nabi Azad, addressed the pressing issue of untapped economic potential in the Chenab region and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (JKUT). Azad emphasized the need to harness this potential to provide jobs and economic empowerment to the region’s unemployed, educated, skilled, and semi-skilled youth.
Azad’s tenure witnessed a significant transformation in the Chenab region. Under his leadership, road connectivity was established, opening up new economic opportunities for the people. However, the region’s economic potential has remained largely untapped, primarily due to poor governance and misplaced economic policies. As a result, both the common people and the educated, skilled, and semi-skilled youth continue to face challenges.
