Two Missing Women Traced and Reunited with Families in Doda District

In a commendable operation, the Doda Police have successfully traced and reunited two missing women with their families in the Gandoh district of Doda.
The women, who had been reported missing earlier this year, were located after extensive efforts by the police teams.
According to an official statement issued by the Doda Police, one of the women, Shabnam Akhter, daughter of Salam and a resident of Manoo in Tehsil Gandoh, had been missing since May 1, 2024.
Her family had filed a missing person report at the Gandoh Police Station. Similarly, another woman, Shamima Begum, wife of Mushtaq Ahmed from Icchair in Tehsil Gandoh, had been reported missing on June 12, 2024.
Upon receiving these reports, the police promptly initiated investigations. Specialized police teams were constituted at Gandoh Police Station to carry out the search operations.
The search was further strengthened by leveraging human intelligence and technical surveillance to gather critical information about the whereabouts of the missing women.
After strenuous and coordinated efforts, the police successfully located the two women in the Bhaderwah and Thathri areas.
Once found, the necessary legal formalities were completed, and both women were handed over to their legal guardians.
The police have officially closed the missing persons’ cases following the safe return of the women to their families.
This operation reflects the Doda Police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its residents.
