
Two drug peddlers arrested in Central Kashmir with 575 grams of charas
Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking, police in Budgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband from their possession.
Apolice spokesperson in a statement said, “A police team from Beerwah, led by ASI Mohammad Shafi, intercepted two suspects near Larbal bridge. On spotting the police, they attempted to flee after discarding a green polythene bag but were apprehended. Upon inspection, 575 grams of charas-like powdered substance was recovered.”

The accused have been identified as Rameez Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie, of Hardu Lattina, and Danish Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Ahad Sheikh, of Larbal. They have been arrested, and an FIR (No. 15/2025) has been registered at Police Station Beerwah for further investigation.
