
Supreme Court Grants Divorce to J&K CM Omar Abdullah and Payal Abdullah After Amicable Settlement
New Delhi, July 31, 2026 [VoM News]: The Supreme Court on Friday granted a divorce to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his wife, Payal Abdullah, formally dissolving their marriage.
After recording that both parties had reached an amicable settlement, the supreme court granted the divorce.
A bench of the apex court, heard the matter noted that the couple had resolved all their disputes through mutual agreement and had agreed to withdraw all pending legal proceedings between them.
Taking the settlement on record, the Supreme Court allowed the divorce and brought an end to the matrimonial dispute.
The court observed that the settlement was voluntary and mutually accepted by both parties, paving the way for the dissolution of their marriage by consent.
No further details of the settlement were disclosed in the court proceedings.
