
SSP Doda Conducts Extensive tour of far off Areas, held PCPG meetings and reviewed VDGs
Doda, May 4: In a significant outreach effort aimed at strengthening community engagement and boosting local security mechanisms, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta, today visited the remote and strategically important areas of Bulandpur and Charota in the Assar Sub Division. The visit was part of the district police’s ongoing initiative to enhance coordination between security forces and the public, especially in far-flung and vulnerable regions.
The SSP, accompanied by SP (Operations), DySP DAR Doda, and SHO Assar, began his visit by touring the Special Police Post (SPP) at Bulandpur. He interacted with the deployed nafri (police personnel) and appreciated their commitment and dedication to duty in tough terrains. SSP Mehta reviewed the operational readiness of the post and took stock of the prevailing security scenario. He also held an informal interaction with local residents, aiming to build trust and gather firsthand feedback on law and order issues.

Later, at Charota, SSP Mehta met with members of the Village Defence Committees (VDCs) and the general public. SSP Mehta listened attentively to the concerns and grievances of the residents and assured them that their genuine problems would be addressed promptly through proper channels.

During his interactions, SSP Mehta emphasized the need for constant vigilance and urged citizens to play a proactive role in maintaining peace and harmony in the region. He appealed to the public to stay alert and report any suspicious movements or presence of anti-national elements to the nearest police authorities. He underlined the significance of community participation in countering potential threats and maintaining a peaceful environment.
Highlighting the importance of local intelligence and cooperation, SSP Mehta said, “Security is a shared responsibility. Every citizen, in their own capacity, can contribute to maintaining peace and safety in the region. Timely information can go a long way in preventing untoward incidents.”
