Experts Team Inspects Pull Doda Bridge; Detailed Report to Come Soon
Doda, July 27, 2026 [VoM News]: Amid the cracks-like appearance on the Pull Doda Bridge, a bridge expert DIQC team from Jammu inspected the bridge today.
The authorities have stopped vehicular movement on this bridge as a precautionary measure, and traffic has been diverted through the Ganpat Bridge, Doda.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), confirmed the presence of crack-like appearances on the bridge and hinted that these do not seem to be structural cracks.
He had earlier stated that due to the overlapping of concrete in the shuttering plates, edge-like conjunctions develop, but left everything to the expert team’s assessment.
Dr. Amit Sharma, who led the Designing Inspection for Quality and Control (DIQC), Jammu and Kashmir, said that the ducts of the bridge were also checked, and structural aspects were examined.
A boat was used to enquire into the condition of the bridge. Dr. Amit said that the HFL of the bridge is high, and all parameters need to be assessed and studied.
He further added that once the detailed assessment is completed, likely within 3 to 4 days, a report would be issued, which would decide the fate of the Pull Doda Bridge.
