Shaheen Afridi Joins PSL’s 100-Wicket Club in Style
In a remarkable feat, Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Afridi achieved a milestone by becoming the third bowler to claim 100 wickets in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Leading the Lahore Qalandars against Islamabad United, Afridi reached this three-digit mark by dismissing Nassem Shah. Wahab Riaz holds the all-time leading wicket-taker position with 113 scalps, followed by Hasan Ali with 107 wickets. Shaheen Afridi’s achievement adds another chapter to the bowling excellence witnessed in the PSL.
Lahore Qalandars Secure Victory, But Remain at the Bottom
Despite Afridi’s stellar performance, Lahore Qalandars secured a 17-run victory against Islamabad United but find themselves at the bottom of the PSL table. Defending a target of 163 runs, Qalandars made early inroads into Islamabad’s batting lineup. Shaheen Afridi dismissed key players, including Alex Hales and Agha Salman. Islamabad faced difficulties as Colin Munro, Imad Wasim, and Jordan Cox fell in quick succession. Although Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf aimed for a late counter-attack, Lahore Qalandars eventually thwarted their efforts.
PSL’s Bowling Elite: Afridi’s Landmark Achievement
Shaheen Afridi’s entry into the 100-wicket club underscores the bowling prowess witnessed in the PSL. His accomplishment reflects the competitive spirit and skill showcased by bowlers in the league. While Lahore Qalandars celebrated a win, Shaheen Afridi’s milestone adds a significant chapter to PSL’s cricketing history.
