Prabhas’ latest cinematic venture, “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” directed by Prashanth Neel, is creating waves at the global box office. Surpassing the coveted ₹600 crore mark within a day, the film has now reached an impressive ₹644 crore in its 11th day of release.
On the eleventh day alone, Salaar garnered ₹12.60 crore in Hindi. Its cumulative domestic earnings have surged to ₹495.30 crore, while the overseas collection has reached ₹149.50 crore. Consequently, the film’s total global box office collection currently stands at ₹644.80 crore.
This remarkable achievement brings Salaar tantalizingly close to Prabhas’ second-highest grossing film globally, SS Rajamouli’s 2015 masterpiece “Baahubali: The Beginning,” which amassed ₹650 crore worldwide. Prabhas’ top-grossing film remains the sequel, “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” (2017), boasting an astounding ₹1788 crore in global earnings.
Expressing gratitude to his fans, Prabhas extended New Year wishes via Instagram on Monday. In his message, he wrote, “While I decide the fate of Khansaar, you all sit back and have a fantastic New Year, darlings! Thank you for owning #SalaarCeaseFire and making it a big success.”
According to Hombale Films, the production company behind Salaar, the movie set a record by earning ₹178.7 crore on its first day, marking the best opening figures for any Indian title in 2023.
Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire” narrates the compelling tale of the friendship between Deva (Prabhas), a tribesman, and Varadha (Prithviraj Sukumaran), the prince of Khansaar. The star-studded cast also includes Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, and Sriya Reddy. Released in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi on December 22, the film faced off against Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” at the box office.
