Race-Competition Hosted by Government Polytechnic-Jammu
The Sports Division of Government Polytechnic Jammu recently organized a “Race Competition” at MA Stadium Jammu, featuring the participation of 40 students from various engineering and non-engineering branches of the institute. The competition showcased the participants’ strength and endurance through a 5 km run for boys and a 2 km run for girls.
During the initial phase of the event, all departments held trials to select three boys and two girls from each branch as athletes. Principal Er. Arun Bangotra commended all participants during the Prize Distribution ceremony for their active involvement in the competition. Emphasizing the importance of sports and games, he stated that they serve as a means to channelize the energy of the youth and contribute positively to the development of India as a vibrant and energetic nation.
Principal Bangotra congratulated the students who secured a place on the podium and urged others to strive harder in the future to achieve success in similar events. Additionally, he informed the students, faculty, and staff about “Viksit Bharat @2047,” the Government of India’s vision to transform India into a developed nation by 2047, marking the 100th anniversary of its Independence.
