SILICON VALLEY, CA – July 30, 2024 – R136 Ventures today announced the recent appointment of Tom Dennedy as Partner and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Tom brings a wealth of industry experience and a proven track record in guiding startups to achieve sustainable growth. This announcement comes as the first C-Suite hiring since the company embarked on its new strategic direction, reflecting its commitment to expanding leadership and enhancing its investment capabilities in the tech sector.
In his new role at R136 Ventures, Tom focuses on supporting mid-to-late stage startups in realizing their full potential through strategic guidance and operational excellence. His extensive expertise in both early- and later-stage technology investments is invaluable as R136 Ventures continues to expand its portfolio and drive innovation.

Before joining R136 Ventures, Tom served as the COO and Partner at Artiman Ventures. There, he specialized in technology investments, managing operations for multiple fund families and special purpose investment vehicles, and overseeing numerous portfolio company transactions. His leadership at Artiman Ventures was marked by his ability to steer complex investment strategies and operational frameworks successfully. Prior to Artiman, Tom was a Managing Director and General Counsel at Telesoft Partners, where he played a key role in more than 40 multi-stage investments and over 30 acquisitions and IPOs. Tom began his Silicon Valley career as an attorney at Brobeck Phleger & Harrison LLP—where he represented clients in the networking, electronic commerce, software, and semiconductor industries.
