QIVIKA Launches AI-Powered Smart Scope, Turns Smartphones Into 24x Long-Range Telescope

QIVIKA Launches AI-Powered Smart Scope, Turns Smartphones Into 24x Long-Range Telescope

TECHNOLOGY DESK, October 1, 2026 [VoM News]: QIVIKA has launched its AI-powered Smart Scope on Kickstarter, introducing a compact optical accessory designed to turn compatible iOS and Android smartphones into long-range observation devices for stargazing, birdwatching, wildlife viewing and photography.

The approximately 300-gram device uses a folded periscope optical system with ED low-dispersion glass and multi-coated optics. QIVIKA says the system provides 24x optical magnification and up to a 3,000mm-equivalent focal length.

Unlike a standalone digital telescope, QIVIKA does not contain its own camera. Instead, users align the device with their smartphone’s camera, with the phone providing the image sensor, display and interface. The company says its adjustable mount supports most mainstream iOS and Android smartphones.

The optical hardware works alongside the QIVIKA Smart App, which adds AI-assisted and augmented-reality features. For astronomy, its Smart Sky Guide provides on-screen guidance designed to help users locate and align with celestial objects.

For daytime exploration, the company says the software can assist with bird identification and supports recognition of more than 10,000 bird species. Users can also maintain observation records, build personal birding Life Lists and record discoveries on a Bird Discovery Map.

Other features promoted by QIVIKA include Moon Hunter and an exploration system based on the 28 Lunar Mansions. The device can be used handheld for quick observation or attached to a tripod for more stable long-range and astronomical viewing.

QIVIKA made its public debut at IFA 2026 in Berlin before launching its crowdfunding campaign on September 15. The Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to run until October 30.

The campaign has already exceeded its original funding target. Kickstarter listed more than $170,000 pledged by hundreds of backers when checked, although crowdfunding totals can continue changing until the campaign closes.

The company expects to begin fulfilling orders later in 2026. As with other Kickstarter projects, however, backing the campaign is not the same as purchasing an already shipping retail product, and Kickstarter notes that rewards are not guaranteed.

Independent real-world performance will also depend on factors including the smartphone used, camera alignment, stability and shooting conditions. The advertised 24x magnification and 3,000mm-equivalent reach are manufacturer specifications rather than an independent assessment of final image quality.
