Protein Coffee Brand Javvy Explores Sale at Nearly $1 Billion Valuation: Report

New York, Aug. 6 [VoM News]: Functional beverage company Javvy is exploring a potential sale that could value the protein coffee brand at around $1 billion, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the South Carolina-based company has appointed investment bank Houlihan Lokey to manage the sale process, which is still in its early stages. Neither Javvy nor Houlihan Lokey commented on the report.

Founded in 2020 by entrepreneurs Justin Kemperman and Brandon Monaghan, Javvy specialises in protein coffee powders, coffee concentrates and other functional beverages. Its product range includes flavours such as Dubai chocolate, banana bread and tiramisu.

The company reportedly generates nearly $300 million in annual revenue and has benefited from rising consumer demand for protein-rich products, particularly among people using GLP-1 weight-loss medications.

Javvy’s products contain 10 grams of protein per serving, along with prebiotics and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which the company says support gut and brain health. It also sells protein refreshers, coffee syrups and creamers.

The brand recently expanded into Walmart stores and is also available through Target, Sprouts Farmers Market and several other retail chains across the United States.

The growing popularity of functional and protein-enriched beverages has prompted major food and beverage companies to expand their offerings. Starbucks, for example, has introduced protein-based coffee beverages and protein cold foams as part of its product lineup.

Javvy has received investment from venture capital firms including Amberstone Ventures, Platinum Mile Ventures and Selva Ventures.

According to the company, its products now reach approximately one in every 44 households in the United States, with one bag of its protein coffee sold every seven to eight seconds.
