
President Young Star Cricket Club Doda Meets Minister Javed Rana, Seeks Support for Gufran Memorial T20 Championship
JAMMU, Apr 24 (VoM News) — Manzoor Ahmed Butt, president of Young Star Cricket Club Doda, on Wednesday met Minister Javed Rana and briefed him about the upcoming All India 16th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2026.
The tournament is scheduled to be held at Sports Stadium Doda and is being organised by the local cricket club.
During the meeting, Butt said the championship is expected to witness participation from IPL players, Ranji Trophy cricketers and teams from various states, along with a few international sides. He noted that the event is likely to be one of the largest cricket tournaments in the region.
“The tournament will provide a platform for young talent and also promote sports culture in the Chenab Valley,” Butt said while outlining the preparations.
After reviewing the details, Rana assured full support from the government. He said the administration would extend all necessary assistance to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
Officials said the meeting ended on a positive note, with organisers expressing confidence that the championship will be held successfully with government backing.
