Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Sudarshan Setu,’ India’s longest cable-stayed bridge in Dwarka, Gujarat. The bridge connects Okha and Beyt Dwarka island, spanning 2.3 km and constructed at a cost of Rs 979 crore. Initially named the ‘Signature Bridge,’ it has been renamed ‘Sudarshan Setu,’ featuring a unique design with footpaths adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna.

Symbolic Link Between Old and New Dwarka: PM Modi’s Vision Realized

Laid in October 2017, the bridge fulfills PM Modi’s vision of creating a link between old and new Dwarka. The four-lane structure, with a width of 27.20 meters and 2.50-meter footpaths on each side, stands as a testament to engineering excellence and aesthetic beauty.

Multi-Faceted Inauguration: AIIMS and Mega Roadshow on the Horizon

In addition to inaugurating the Sudarshan Setu, PM Modi is set to offer prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple before addressing a large gathering. Following this, he will inaugurate Gujarat’s first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot. The prime minister will virtually inaugurate four other AIIMS in Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, demonstrating a commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure.

The five super-speciality hospitals, constructed at a total cost of Rs 6,300 crore, aim to enhance healthcare accessibility across different regions. As part of his visit, PM Modi is expected to participate in a mega roadshow in the city, showcasing a multifaceted approach towards development and connectivity in Gujarat.
