PM Modi Historic vist in Jammu Draws Massive Crowd for Inspirational Address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic visit to Jammu and Kashmir, marking his first appearance in the region since the revocation of its special status. His arrival at MA Stadium drew a massive crowd eager to hear his address and witness the launch of ambitious development projects.
Development Initiatives Worth Over Rs 32,000 Crore Unveiled
Modi initiated a series of development projects valued at over Rs 32,000 crore from MA Stadium. Among the key highlights were the kickstarting of the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The party aims to secure three out of the five parliamentary seats in the region. Modi’s busy itinerary included inaugurating rail projects, distributing appointment letters, and engaging with beneficiaries of government schemes. Importantly, these events were conducted through innovative video conferencing methods.
Rail Projects and Economic Growth
The inauguration of rail projects, such as the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan section with Ballast Less Track (BLT) technology and India’s longest transportation tunnel, promises to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth. Modi’s commitment to the region was evident as he distributed appointment letters to 1500 new government recruits and launched the BJP’s election campaign in a massive rally. Additionally, he inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vijaypur and laid the foundation stone for a new terminal building at Jammu Airport.
Multi-Sectoral Development Across Jammu and Kashmir
The day’s agenda was comprehensive, covering projects in health, education, transportation, and civic infrastructure. The initiatives, totaling over Rs 32,000 crore, included the establishment of IITs, IIMs, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and enhancements in road infrastructure. Modi also laid the groundwork for vital road projects and the development of a state-of-the-art petroleum depot in Jammu. The focus extended to bolstering civic infrastructure and public facilities, encompassing road development, energy infrastructure, environmental management, and urban development initiatives.
