Public Health Engineering Department Division Gandoh employees staged a peaceful protest in Sub-division Gandoh on Saturday in response to the assault on one of their colleagues by contractor Bal Krishan and his son in Khal Jugusar, District Doda.

The employees demanded severe punishment for the accused contractor and his son, who attacked the PHE worker while the latter was carrying out official duties in the area.

Expressing their dissatisfaction, the protesters warned that if the police authorities did not take decisive action against the contractor and his son within a specified timeframe, they would initiate a protest against the administration.

Subsequently, following assurances from the police authorities that appropriate action would be taken against those responsible for assaulting the PHE employee, the protesting workers dispersed peacefully.
