New Delhi, Aug. 3, 2026 [VoM News]: Parliament is set to resume proceedings on Monday as the Monsoon Session enters its third week, with the Centre expected to introduce several pending Bills while the Opposition prepares to raise a range of contentious issues.
The session has witnessed repeated disruptions over the past two weeks, with Opposition parties protesting over the alleged examination paper leaks, police action against student protesters at Jantar Mantar, and the alleged misappropriation of donations to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
In the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh is scheduled to introduce The Indian Statistical Institute Bill 2026, while Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to move The Bankers’ Books Evidence Bill 2026 for consideration and passage.

Ahead of the day’s proceedings, Congress leaders submitted separate notices seeking discussions on key issues.
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury moved an adjournment motion demanding an independent audit of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. She sought suspension of the day’s business to discuss the Trust’s financial transparency, functioning, audit mechanisms and government oversight.
Congress MP Manish Tewari submitted an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha seeking suspension of Question Hour, Zero Hour and other listed business to discuss the Anti-Defection Law.
Meanwhile, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala gave a notice under Rule 267, seeking suspension of business to discuss the alleged Ram Temple donation theft issue.
With both the government and the Opposition expected to remain firm on their respective positions, further disruptions are likely as Parliament takes up legislative business during the ongoing Monsoon Session.
