Pakistan SC Revokes PTI’s Bat Symbol
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has declared the Peshawar High Court’s decision to restore Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s “bat” symbol null and void. The court asserted that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should extend a level playing field internally. The remarks came during the hearing of the ECP’s petition challenging the PHC’s decision. PTI has lost its “bat” symbol as a result. The court emphasized the importance of transparency in intra-party elections and indicated that PTI should manage its interests independently, ensuring fairness within the party.
