Amid cloud cover and the possibility of rain over the next 24 hours, night temperatures have surged in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir. This shift in temperature dynamics brings both relief and concerns for residents and authorities alike.
Night Temperature Surges in JK:Temperature Variations Across Regions
In Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the minimum temperature rose to 8.0°C, marking a significant increase from the previous night’s 4.8°C. Similarly, other regions experienced notable temperature shifts, with Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kokernag, Kupwara, Gulmarg, and Jammu all registering higher minimum temperatures compared to the previous night.

In Pahalgam, a famous resort nestled in south Kashmir, the low reached 2.5°C, indicating a rise from the previous night’s 0.5°C. Meanwhile, in Gulmarg, the renowned skiing destination in north Kashmir, the temperature rose to 2.0°C, showing an increase of 2.8°C from the previous night. These variations underscore the dynamic weather patterns characteristic of the region.

Looking ahead, meteorological projections indicate fairly widespread rain over the next 24 hours, followed by mainly dry weather. However, the forecast also hints at the possibility of light rain or snow at isolated places from April 6-10.
