
Nationwide “Swachhta Hi Seva” Campaign Gathers Momentum in Doda

– The Ministry of Information’s Field Office in Doda, under the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), organized a significant event at Government Middle School (GMS) Ghat Block Doda as part of the nationwide special awareness campaign, “Swachhta Hi Seva.” The event, attended by local dignitaries and enthusiastic participants, was a resounding success in promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and community engagement.
A Unified Effort for Cleanliness
The event, held at GMS Ghat Block Doda, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, local residents, and esteemed guests. The campaign’s theme, “Swachhta Hi Seva,” emphasizes the critical role cleanliness and sanitation play in building a healthy and prosperous nation.

Sh. Vikram Uppal, Incharge of CBC Doda Circle, highlighted the department’s pivotal role in facilitating communication between the government and the public. The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Mrs. Princey Thusoo, who delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the need for collective efforts in maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings. Esteemed guests Smt. Najma Ahmed Wani and Smt. Fariha Firdous acted as resource persons, sharing their insights and encouraging active participation in cleanliness initiatives. These resource persons delivered expert lectures on various aspects of cleanliness and hygiene, educating the audience on best practices and the importance of a clean environment.
Action in Motion
Participants enthusiastically joined a cleanliness drive, actively cleaning the school premises and the surrounding Panchayat Gahr Gath. This hands-on approach demonstrated the community’s commitment to a cleaner and greener future. Attendees took the Swachhta pledge, reaffirming their dedication to maintaining cleanliness and spreading awareness about its significance. To facilitate waste segregation and disposal, dustbins were distributed among the attendees, ensuring that waste management practices improve in the area.

Students and teachers worked hand in hand, exemplifying the importance of teamwork and community involvement. This collaboration promoted a sense of responsibility towards cleanliness among the youth.
