After an extended hiatus since the release of Kalimannu in 2013, Blessy, a National Award-winning director, is making a triumphant return with the Malayalam film, The Goat Life. Prabhas took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal the first-look of his Salaar co-star, Prithviraj Sukumaran, from the film. Described by the makers as ‘the greatest survival adventure ever,’ the movie is inspired by a true story. Prabhas expressed his excitement, stating, “Thrilled to unveil the first-look poster of Prithviraj Sir’s #TheGoatLife – a journey of the indomitable human spirit! Embark on this extraordinary survival adventure starting April 10th, 2024.” Prithviraj, visibly transformed for the role, acknowledged the post with gratitude, writing, “Thank you my #Salaar.”

In the shared first-look, Prithviraj is portrayed with a rugged appearance, featuring long hair and a beard. The actor underwent a significant weight loss to authentically portray the demanding character. Opening up about the film during its initial launch, Prithviraj emphasized, “I knew The Goat Life was a challenging film, fully aware of the obstacles I’d encounter throughout its making. Despite the difficulties, it pushed me to my limits, both physically and mentally. I have dedicated five years to my character in the film, Najeeb, undergoing extreme physical transformations to perfect the look and feel of the character.”

The Goat Life boasts a stellar cast including Jimmy Jean-Louis, Amala Paul, Gokul, Talib al Balushi, and Rik Aby in pivotal roles. The film’s music is composed by the Oscar-winning AR Rahman, while Resul Pookutty, also an Academy Award winner, has overseen the sound design. Filmed in multiple countries, The Goat Life stands as one of the most ambitious projects in the history of Malayalam cinema. Scheduled for release on April 10, the film will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada as well.
