
Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: Anti-Drug Awareness Event Organised At RS Pura

JAMMU, 11.04.2025: In a continued effort to promote a drug-free society under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, an impactful awareness programme titled “No to Drugs, Yes to Life” was organized today at Megh Sabha Samaz, Ward No. 4, R.S. Pura at 1215 hours.
The event drew a strong community response and brought together officials from various departments, civil society leaders, and local residents.
Prominent figures who participated in the programme included Tehsildar R S Pura and Naib Tehsildar R.S. Pura, SHO Police Station R.S. Pura, President Megh Mandal Samaz Sh. Gharu Ram Uttar, Senior Lecturer Sh. Sohan Singh Chib, Dr. Ekta Sudan, and President Bazar Association Sh. Sachin Chopra.

The event was attended by around 80–90 people, including a significant number of senior citizens of R.S. Pura.
The gathering was addressed by various speakers who emphasized the urgent need to tackle drug abuse through collective awareness, education, and community engagement.
The officials and community leaders highlighted the responsibility shared by families, schools, and enforcement agencies in identifying and preventing substance abuse.
One of the key moments of the event was the pledge taken by all participants to stay away from drugs and to extend full cooperation to police and administration in eradicating this social evil. The initiative sent a strong and unified message that the people of R.S. Pura stand firmly against drug addiction.
Such campaigns not only raise awareness but also foster a culture of accountability and resilience within society.
Jammu Police, along with civic bodies and citizens, remains committed to continuing these awareness drives across the district, especially in vulnerable and high-risk areas.
