Lovely Professional University Violence Case: Two Students Arrested From Doda, Jammu; Search On for Kishtwar Student

JAMMU, Oct 2, 2026 [VoM News]: Punjab Police, assisted by J&K Police, have arrested two students from the Jammu region for their alleged involvement in violence and vandalism at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara.

LPU student Sahil Singh was arrested from Koti village in Doda district, while another accused, identified as Antariksh, was apprehended from Pouni Chak in Jammu.

Police are also searching for Farhat Dev, an LPU student from Kishtwar, who allegedly left Phagwara following the September 27-28 campus unrest. Reports said searches were conducted in Doda and other parts of J&K to trace him.

The violence erupted after an unverified social media claim alleging sexual assault of a student circulated online. LPU has rejected the allegation as false.

Police are examining CCTV footage, social media videos and digital evidence to identify those allegedly involved in vandalism, arson and stone-pelting. The investigation remains underway.
