
Ladakh: Committee Constituted for Assessment of Damages Caused by Recent Continuous Rainfall in Leh District
Leh, August 29: Following the recent spell of continuous rainfall in Leh District and the resultant damages, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, DDMA, Leh, on the advice of the Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, has constituted District and Sub-Divisional Level Committees to comprehensively assess the situation.
The District Level Committee will be chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner/CEO, DDMA, Leh, Shri Ghulam Mohd, and will include senior officers from PW(R&B), PHE/I&FC, Police, Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, Revenue, MC Leh, and UTDRF.

At the Sub-Divisional Level, the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate will chair the committee, which will include the Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Executive Engineers of R&B and I&FC, Block Development Officer, Zonal Education Officer, and Station House Officer concerned.
The Committees have been tasked to Assess the extent of damages caused by the recent rainfall across Leh District, Prepare a detailed report with specific recommendations, and submit the findings to the Deputy Commissioner’s office at the earliest.
This initiative aims to ensure a systematic evaluation of the damages and to facilitate timely relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected areas.
