Key Opposition Leader Meets Jitan Ram Manjhi Ahead of Bihar Trust Vote
CPI(ML) Liberation legislature party leader Mehboob Alam, a prominent figure in Bihar’s opposition ‘Mahagathbandhan,’ met with former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, founder of the Hindustani Awam Morcha and NDA partner.
Both leaders emphasized that the meeting was not political, and it focused on checking on Manjhi’s health. Mehboob Alam stated that Manjhi is their guardian, and the meeting was a regular occurrence.
Amid speculations about political maneuvers, Alam clarified that they were not involved in any underhand tactics. The meeting occurred two days before the NDA government sought a trust vote in Bihar.
In the 243-member state assembly, the NDA has a combined strength of 128, while the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ has 114 members.
The meeting took place at Manjhi’s residence in Patna, with both leaders downplaying its political significance.
