The Cybercrime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of J&K Police District Doda has once again proven its efficiency by successfully recovering ₹32,081 that was lost in multiple online fraud cases. This recovery demonstrates the unit’s unwavering dedication and expertise in tackling cybercrime, which has become increasingly prevalent in recent times.
The J&K Police District Doda provided details of the case, noting that the CCIU received complaints from three victims: Sumeer Qasim, son of Mohd Qasim from Roat Marmat, Doda; Anjit Singh, son of Ishwar Lal from Chakrabhati, Bala District Doda; and Tabinda Wani, wife of Aadil from Doda. All three individuals had fallen victim to online fraud, losing a combined total of ₹32,081.
During the investigation, the CCIU team employed advanced technical skills and meticulous efforts to trace the defrauded funds. Their expertise and commitment led to the successful recovery of the stolen amount, bringing relief to the victims.
The CCIU Doda was established on February 7, 2024, and since its inception, the unit has made significant strides in combating cybercrime in the region. To date, the CCIU Doda has successfully recovered a substantial sum of ₹24.78 lakh from various online fraud cases.
