Bhat had been arrested during an attempt to transport proceeds of terrorism amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh on HM’s behalf. Additionally, he had been convicted by the NIA Court Patiala House, Delhi, in a separate case related to his association with a terrorist organization and conspiracy to commit a terrorist acts.
