JK Police CCIU Doda Recovers 49 smartphones worth Rs. 7.5 lakh

Doda, 25th October 2024: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Doda, under the Jammu and Kashmir Police, successfully traced and recovered 49 smartphones reported missing from various parts of the country.
Valued at Rs. 7,53,973, these phones were located across multiple states and union territories, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, with significant technical support from the Electronic Surveillance Unit (ESU) of Doda.
Acting upon several complaints lodged by the public about lost or stolen mobile devices, the CCIU of Doda Police launched an extensive operation to track down these phones. Their diligent efforts culminated in recovering the 49 missing smartphones, bringing much relief to the affected individuals.
In a ceremony held at the District Police Office Doda, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Shri Mohd. Aslam (IPS) personally handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners.
SSP Aslam took the opportunity to address the public, urging them to be cautious with their mobile phones, especially as these devices often contain sensitive personal information, which can be misused if fallen into the wrong hands.
The phone owners expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the relentless efforts of the Doda Police in recovering their devices. The operation not only restored their lost property but also highlighted the effectiveness of the police force in dealing with cyber-related crimes.
SSP Doda further stressed the need for vigilance, urging citizens to take care of their smartphones to avoid theft or loss, and ensure better protection of their personal data.
