
JK Govt Reconstitutes Board of Directors for JK Road Transport Corporation
In a significant administrative move, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has issued a new order for the reconstitution of the Board of Directors of the J&K Road Transport Corporation.
Jammu & Kashmir, India (February 12, 2025) – The General Administration Department of the Civil Secretariat, J&K, has released an official order for the reconstitution of the Board of Directors for the J&K Road Transport Corporation. This reconstitution, effective immediately, aims to streamline the operations and enhance the efficiency of the corporation, which plays a vital role in the region’s transportation infrastructure.
The order, ordered as Government Order No.: 205-JK(GAD) of 2025, outlines the newly appointed board members as follows:
- Hon’ble Minister In-Charge, Transport Department – Chairman
- Administrative Secretary, Finance Department – Vice Chairman
- Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department – Director
- Administrative Secretary, Transport Department – Director
- Administrative Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department – Director
- Managing Director, J&K Road Transport Corporation – Director/Member Secretary
- Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department, Kashmir – Director
- Shri Tapan Kumar Das, Under Secretary to the Government of India (Representative of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India) – Director
This reconstitution supersedes all previous orders issued on the subject and is signed by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government. This move is expected to bring a fresh perspective and effective governance to the J&K Road Transport Corporation.
