Jk Government Reshuffles Law Officers
In a recent administrative order, the Jammu and Kashmir government has implemented significant changes in the positions of law officers, realigning their responsibilities and duties. This reshuffle is aimed at optimizing the legal expertise within the government departments and ensuring efficient legal support across the region.
Waseem Ahmad Lone Takes Charge of Finance Department
Waseem Ahmad Lone, who was previously serving as Deputy Legal Remembrancer while also shouldering additional responsibilities in the General Administration Department, has been reassigned. With immediate effect, he now assumes a full-time role in the Finance Department, bringing his legal acumen to this crucial department.

New Roles for Jawad Murtaza Khan and Aayat Ullah
Jawad Murtaza Khan, formerly an Assistant Legal Remembrancer under adjustment orders, now finds his expertise redirected to the Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Civil Secretariat in Jammu. Similarly, Aayat Ullah, another Assistant Legal Remembrancer under adjustment orders, is posted in the Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. These changes are aimed at optimizing the legal resources available in different regions of the state.
Distribution of Legal Responsibilities Across Districts
The government’s order also addresses the distribution of legal responsibilities in various districts. Rubi Jan, an Assistant Legal Remembrancer and District Litigation Officer, has been relocated to the District Litigation Office in Anantnag, where she will also oversee the operations in Kulgam. Meanwhile, Deeba Khan, an Assistant Legal Remembrancer and District Litigation Officer, has been transferred to the District Litigation Office in Srinagar and will additionally manage the District Litigation Office in Budgam. Saqib Rasool, another Assistant Legal Remembrancer and District Litigation Officer, has been reassigned to the District Litigation Office in Baramulla, with additional responsibility for the District Litigation Office in Bandipora.
Javeed Nazir Assumes New Role in General Administration Department
In this restructuring of legal officers, Javeed Nazir, who had previously served as an Assistant Legal Remembrancer and District Litigation Officer, is now posted in the General Administration Department. He will be replacing Waseem Ahmad Lone, who has moved to the Finance Department.
This transition of responsibilities aims to enhance the legal support provided by these government departments.The government has also emphasized that all the law officers mentioned in this order are relieved from their previous positions, effective from the date of this order. This measure ensures a smooth transition and allows the newly appointed officers to assume their roles promptly, providing uninterrupted legal support across the region.
