JK Gears Up for Wet Weather, Night Temperatures Fall
Jammu and Kashmir braces for precipitation across its plains and snowfall in higher elevations, with a noticeable drop in nighttime temperatures as reported by the meteorological department. In Srinagar, the minimum temperature dipped to 7.1°C, slightly below the usual for this time of year. Similarly, Qazigund and Pahalgam experienced cooler nights compared to previous days, with temperatures below normal for the season.
Kokernag observed a slight increase in temperature, while Kupwara and Gulmarg noted variations in their nighttime lows. Meanwhile, Jammu experienced above-normal temperatures for its winter capital status.

Looking ahead, the forecast predicts partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow in higher areas, possibly accompanied by thunder in scattered locations. From April 13-14, expect cloudy skies with chances of rain and snow in various areas, with isolated instances of heavy precipitation, thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms.
From April 15-17, anticipate partly to generally cloudy conditions with light precipitation in plains and snow in higher regions at select spots. Similarly, from April 18-20, expect partly cloudy weather with light rain or snow in many areas.
Farmers are advised to halt operations temporarily due to possible disruptions, while travelers and tourists are urged to plan accordingly. Temporary waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas, and caution is advised against landslides, mudslides, and falling stones during this period.
