Jk Authorities action Against Ration Dealer in Doda for Violations
In response to a specific complaint regarding the underweight measurement of foodgrains at the Government Food Store in Bhatyas, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, took action by assembling a team comprising representatives from the Legal Metrology Department Doda, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Doda, and local Revenue officials. Their purpose was to carry out a surprise inspection of the aforementioned food store in Bhatyas.
Upon inspecting the store premises, it was uncovered that the storekeeper was utilizing two electronic weighing scales. Both of these weighing scales had not been officially verified and were found to be providing measurements below the standard weights established by the Legal Metrology department.

In response to this discovery, both electronic scales were confiscated, and legal proceedings against the storekeeper in violation were set in motion. A show cause notice has been issued by the Assistant Director of the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department in Doda to the storekeeper in question. Additionally, directives have been issued to all Tehsil Supply Officers to ensure the verification and calibration of weighing scales through the Legal Metrology Department.
