    Jammu Cyber Cell Police announced a breakthrough in three separate online cybercrime cases. One complaint detailed a WhatsApp call from a suspicious individual informing the recipient of a parcel supposedly delivered to Delhi, demanding Rs. 29,500 for its delivery. After the transaction, the caller became unreachable.

    In another incident, a victim fell prey to a financial fraud totaling Rs. 50,000. Initially investing a sum, the victim was coerced into investing more by the fraudster, who subsequently disappeared after the victim’s phone was switched off.

    A third complaint outlined a financial scam amounting to Rs. 38,500. The victim applied for a loan through the Fundflex loan calculator app, only to receive a call demanding Rs. 1,250 as membership fees. Despite complying, the fraudster demanded further payments until becoming unreachable.

    The Cyber Cell District Police Office in Jammu swiftly responded to the complaints, demonstrating tireless efforts that led to the freezing of Rs. 1,13,000 out of the Rs. 1,18,000 involved in these cases. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details.

    Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar, reiterated his call for public vigilance and prompt reporting to the National Helpline number 1930 or the Cyber Cell DPO Jammu helpline number 8899537995. He encouraged citizens to file cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and www.ceir.gov.in for lost or stolen mobile devices.
