
J-K Government Reconstitutes Cable Car Corporation Board to Strengthen Adventure Tourism and Infrastructure Oversight
Srinagar, June 21 — In a fresh push to boost infrastructure governance and strengthen adventure tourism in the region, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has reconstituted the Board of Directors of the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation Limited (JKCCC).
The order, issued under Government Order No. 760-JK(GAD) of 2025, dated June 20, 2025, by the General Administration Department (GAD), replaces all previous orders on the subject and reflects a renewed administrative commitment to the effective management of the cable car operations in the Union Territory.
New Board Composition
The restructured board brings together senior functionaries from the government’s key administrative, tourism, finance, and engineering wings. The board will be chaired by the Hon’ble for Tourism and includes the following members include: Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister – Director, Chief Secretary – Director, Administrative Secretary, Finance Department – Director, Administrative Secretary, Tourism Department – Director, Managing Director, J&K Tourism Development Corporation – Director, Director Tourism, Kashmir/Jammu – Director, Chief Engineer, Distribution (Kashmir/Jammu) – Director, Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation Ltd. – Director, and Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority – Director.
In addition, three senior technical officials have been designated as Special Invitees:
- Administrative Secretary, Planning Development & Monitoring Department
- Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department
- Chief Engineer, PDD (Maintenance)
The Managing Director of JKCCC will play a central role in coordinating between board members and executing operational decisions, especially those related to the Gulmarg Gondola and other ropeway projects under the Corporation’s ambit.
