India Clinches Series Win with Five-Wicket Victory Over England in Fourth Test
India secured a historic series win against England with a five-wicket victory in the fourth Test at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel played crucial roles, forging an unbeaten 72-run stand.
This win marked India’s 17th consecutive series win at home, maintaining their unbeaten record. The team has now won 30 and drawn three out of 33 instances when chasing a target below 200.
England faced their first series defeat since Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes took charge in 2022.
This also marked the 10th Test defeat for Stokes, Joe Root, and James Anderson in India, putting them on par with Ricky Ponting in terms of Test defeats in the country.
In a thrilling encounter, momentum swung between both teams during the second session. Shoaib Bashir’s quick wickets challenged India, but Gill and Jurel’s resilient partnership guided the team to victory.
Gill’s well-deserved half-century, including consecutive sixes, played a pivotal role. With this win, India demonstrated their dominance at home and extended their impressive series-winning streak.
