India beat Afghanistan by six-wickets
India secured a convincing six-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the first T20I clash in Mohali, with Shivam Dube playing a pivotal role by scoring an unbeaten 60 runs. The Indian run-chase encountered a rocky start due to a mix-up that led to Rohit Sharma’s run-out. Despite this setback, India successfully chased down the target with 15 balls to spare.
In the bowling department, Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar showcased their skills by taking two wickets each. Their efforts contributed significantly to restricting Afghanistan to a total of 158/5 in 20 overs. Mohammad Nabi played a quickfire innings, scoring 42 runs, while Azmatullah Omarzai provided a rapid cameo of 29 runs. The duo formed a crucial partnership, adding 68 runs for the fourth wicket before Mukesh Kumar dismissed both batsmen in the same over.
