India and UAE Exchange MoUs, Including UPI-AANI Interlinking
India and the United Arab Emirates exchanged multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The MoUs cover various areas, including investment treaty, digital infrastructure projects, interlinking of payment platforms (UPI and AANI), and cooperation in the fields of electrical interconnection, heritage, museums, and more.
The interlinking of UPI and AANI aims to facilitate seamless cross-border transactions, and an agreement on linking RuPay with JAYWAN enhances financial sector cooperation. The leaders also discussed strengthening the energy partnership.
