Heavy Snowfall in Doda, Roads Closed; Improvement Expected Soon
Doda in Jammu and Kashmir woke up to a picturesque morning as a substantial snowfall blanketed the hilly terrain, creating a serene white landscape. Similar to other areas in the valley, Doda experienced a significant snowfall, causing disruptions in various regions. Reports from Kastigarh, Marmat, Bhaderwah, and surrounding areas indicate heavy snow accumulation, leading to the closure of several roads.
The Jammu-Srinagar national highway faced closure due to the presence of shooting stones near Ramban, adding to the transportation challenges. Both interior and exterior roads leading to the district headquarters were adversely affected by the intense snowfall. According to our correspondent in Marmat, key link roads such as Bhargran-Behota-Mangota and Bhargran-Bari-Roat were closed. On a positive note, the road connecting the tehsil headquarters Goha Marmat remains open for vehicular movement.
Despite the disruptions, the Meteorological Department anticipates an improvement in the weather conditions in the upcoming hours of the day. Residents are hopeful that the snowfall will gradually subside, allowing for the reopening of essential routes and a return to normalcy in the region.
