Health Camp in Doda Screens Sanitation Workers for HIV and Hepatitis

In a dedicated effort to protect the health of sanitation workers, the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Ghat, with support from the District Health Society Doda, organized a one-day screening camp for HIV and Hepatitis B & C at the Town Hall Complex in Doda on August 13.
This initiative, aligned with the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, sought to safeguard the well-being of those responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the district.
The camp was led by BMO Ghat, Dr. Abdul Gafoor, under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda, Dr. Om Kumar.
In collaboration with GMC Doda and the Municipal Council Doda, the camp focused on monitoring and testing sanitation workers for these contagious diseases, recognizing their critical role as the “Brand Ambassadors” of cleanliness in society.
A comprehensive health screening was conducted for nearly 100 sanitation workers, including personnel from the Municipal Council Doda.
A dedicated team from the Department of Microbiology and ICTC GMC Doda ensured that all participants were tested and educated on the importance of health and hygiene.
The health staff emphasized the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to enable the sanitation workers to perform their duties effectively.
The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including the Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Doda, Mr. Ninad Sen, HOD Microbiology GMC Doda, Dr. Safia Khan, and HOD Pathology GMC Doda, Dr. Sumat Khurshid.
The camp concluded with a Swachhta Pledge, where all participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and encouraging others to follow this vital cause.
