    Urges synchronised efforts for holistic development & self reliance in Agro products_

    Doda, November, 14;

    Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, led a meeting to review the Agriculture Sector and advancements in the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) by the Agriculture and allied departments.

    DC reviewed the progress under ATMA, SMAM, PMDP/MIDH, NFSM, PKVY, Rain fed Area Development, and UT Capex, besides, HADP. Crucial departments, including Fisheries, Agriculture, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, and Sheep Husbandry, were focal points of discussion.

    District heads provided detailed insights into agro welfare schemes, highlighting their advantages while addressing hurdles hindering their smooth establishment. Deputy Commissioner Singh conducted a thorough review of the agriculture sector, urging a 70 percent target achievement by the end of November 2023. Additionally, discussions with the agriculture officer centred around increasing the production of Geographical Indication (GI) taged Rajma, and creating a laboratory for its certification.Detailed discussions ensued on farmers’ welfare schemes, with Deputy Commissioner Singh asking a list of progressive farmers.

    Further interactions involved assessing progress in lavender farming and reviewing the profitable utilisation of overproduction in milk in the district. The sheep husbandry department’s performance in mutton and poultry production was also discussed. The meeting was attended by the officers and officials of stakeholders departments and officers of banks.

    The meeting was also virtually attended by the bank branch managers across the district. DC emphasized synchronised efforts for holistic development and self-reliance of the district in the food grains, vegetables, cereals, pulses, mutton, poultry products, egg production, and other Agro products.
