    Kishtwar, January 16, 2026: The Police Department has announced the promotion of Ajaz Ahmed (EXJ-085624) to the rank of Selection Grade Constable (SGCT), acknowledging his long-standing service marked by dedication, discipline and professional integrity.

    Ajaz Ahmed began his career in the police force in 2004 as a Special Police Officer (SPO). From the early years of his service, he was known for his sincerity, commitment to duty and disciplined conduct, which earned him appreciation from senior officers.

    In recognition of his consistent performance, he was promoted as a Follower in 2008. During this phase of his career, he continued to carry out his responsibilities with professionalism and a strong sense of accountability, maintaining a positive rapport with colleagues and the public alike.

    In January 2026, the department formally rewarded his meritorious service by promoting him to Selection Grade Constable. Police officials described the promotion as a reflection of the department’s commitment to recognizing hard work and dedication among its personnel.

    Senior officers noted that Ajaz Ahmed’s journey from an SPO to SGCT serves as an inspiring example for young recruits, highlighting how perseverance, discipline and ethical conduct can lead to career growth within the force.
