Envisioning a Bright Future: EAM Jaishankar on Bharat’s Path under BJP-led NDA Regime
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, speaking in the national capital, emphasized the promising future of Bharat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He lauded the nation’s democratic traditions, asserting that few countries have achieved the level of democratic maturity seen in Bharat.
National Girl Child Day: A Celebration and a Personal Reflection
Extending greetings on National Girl Child Day, Jaishankar, as a brother and father to a girl, acknowledged the value of family. His remarks at the Miranda House event underscored the importance of recognizing and empowering the girl child in the country.
Bharat’s Economic Trajectory: Projections and Prosperity
Addressing the event themed ‘Future of the Bharat,’ Jaishankar shared economic projections, citing Goldman Sachs figures. He highlighted Bharat’s economic journey from 3.73 trillion dollars in 2023 to an anticipated 52.5 trillion dollars by 2075. The minister envisioned a tenfold increase in per capita income, signaling a prosperous future for the nation.
Jaishankar emphasized the need for collective effort, referring to Prime Minister Modi’s vision for ‘Amrit Kaal’ and the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He urged citizens to understand that the future is not predestined, requiring active involvement and commitment from individuals, societies, and the country as a whole.
Reflecting on Bharat’s democratic foundation, Jaishankar cautioned against taking democracy for granted. Drawing from his diplomatic experiences, he highlighted the uniqueness and strength of Bharat’s democratic traditions, urging continuous nurturing and practice to safeguard this essential aspect of the nation’s identity.
