Eleven Stocks Placed Under F&O Ban by NSE for November 22
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has put eleven stocks under the futures and options (F&O) segment ban for trading on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. This action was taken as these securities crossed the 95% threshold of the market-wide position limit (MWPL).
List of Stocks Under F&O Ban
The stocks included in the F&O ban list are:
- BHEL
- Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals
- Delta Corp
- Hindustan Copper
- Indiabulls Housing Finance
- India Cements
- Manappuram Finance
- MCX
- NMDC
- RBL Bank
- ZEEL
While these stocks are banned in the F&O segment, they remain available for trading in the cash market. The NSE mandates that trading in these derivative contracts is only permitted to decrease positions through offsetting. No new positions are allowed for the F&O contracts of these stocks during the ban period.
The NSE has warned that any increase in open positions in these securities will attract penal and disciplinary actions.
Market Performance on November 21
The Sensex and Nifty rebounded on Tuesday, following buying in select metal and banking shares. The Sensex climbed 275.62 points (0.42%) to settle at 65,930.77, while the Nifty went up by 89.40 points (0.45%) to 19,783.40. Consumer durables, commodities, healthcare, and financial services indices experienced gains, whereas FMCG, industrials, IT, telecommunication, and oil & gas sectors lagged.
Broader Market Trends
In the broader market, the BSE smallcap index saw a 0.20% rise, and the midcap index gained 0.14%. Among sectoral indices, consumer durables led with a 1.34% increase, followed by commodities and healthcare.
