ED Raids Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki’s Premises in Kanpur
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on Thursday at the residences of Samajwadi Party’s incarcerated MLA, Irfan Solanki, and his brother Arshad in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Irfan Solanki has been in jail for a year, facing multiple charges, including attempted encroachment on a plot, with a total of 17 cases filed against him.
Ongoing Legal Woes for Jailed MLA Irfan Solanki
Irfan Solanki’s legal troubles extend beyond the encroachment accusation, encompassing various charges such as plot disputes, arson, using a fake Aadhaar card for air travel, and allegedly providing fake Indian citizenship to Bangladeshi citizens. His imprisonment has persisted for a year, reflecting the severity and complexity of the legal issues surrounding him.
Rajya Sabha Voting Denied and Legal Implications
Despite being incarcerated, Solanki sought to participate in the Rajya Sabha elections by filing an application. However, the court dismissed his plea, underscoring the legal obstacles he faces.
